Francesco Paolo di Carlo is born and baptized on 27 February 1872 in Corleone, the son of Castrenze di Carlo and Lucia Gammanta. The record of his baptism calls his mother Lucia Gennaro: there is no couple by these names living in Corleone. (Search of matrimonial indices covering years 1812-72 concluded 1/12/19. Cascio-10 22:56, 12 January 2019 (UTC)) His godfather is Francesco Leggio, who is unmarried.[1]
Francesco emigrates with a large party of mostly working men from Corleone on the Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm, sailing from Palermo via Naples and arriving on 17 October 1894 in Ellis Island. All passengers are going to New Orleans. A partial list follows:
